Front Server

The Front Server is the leader of the team. They must be able to communicate the flow of service for each table to the rest of the team members. Front Servers are the elite group of severs at Shadows on the Hudson and possess the most knowledge about our food and beverage programs. Everything will be directed to the Front Servers from management and they are responsible for all service and sales execution within their team. Additionally may be responsible for performing all other responsibilities as directed by the business or as assigned by management.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Front Server is the leader of the team. They must be able to communicate the flow of service for each table to the rest of the team members. Front Servers are the elite group of severs at Shadows on the Hudson and possess the most knowledge about our food and beverage programs. Everything will be directed to the Front Servers from management and they are responsible for all service and sales execution within their team. Additionally may be responsible for performing all other responsibilities as directed by the business or as assigned by management.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Responsible for memorizing and describing in depth all featured food and beverage menu items to the team and what is required to serve each item.
  • Organizes team responsibilities throughout each shift and ensures all service areas and galleys are ready for service.
  • Greets each table and offers bottled still, sparkling or tap water service.
  • Responsible for all sales of their designated section. Sales goals will be given by management on a daily basis and performance will be evaluated by management.
  • Takes every course order from the guest effectively without error. Back Server may take orders when necessary.
  • Setting up Mise en Place (MEP) for each course based on the order taken
  • Capable of making individual food and wine pairings to a guest depending on their choices or preferences.
  • Presenting and correcting guest check
  • Process multiple payments accurately and without error
  • Effectively serve catering events flawlessly. Assistance will be given from Back Servers, Kitchen Assistants and Captains only when needed.
  • Runs food whenever necessary

Physical Requirements of the Front Server Position:

  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must be able to exert well-paced mobility in limited space.
  • Must have the ability to bend, squat and lift up to 50 lbs., including, but not limited to, lifting trays of food or food items on a regular and continuing basis.
  • Understand and respond to employee and guest verbal requests and visual cues in a loud and extremely busy environment.

Education Requirements:

A minimum of a High School diploma is preferred but may be waived with the right level of experience.

Physical Requirements of the Front Server Position:

  • $15.00 per hour ($10.00 Cash Wage + $5.00 Tip Credit)
